About Us

Hi, my name is Bernadette. I designed and built a gorgeous little Storybook Cottage at Rye on the Mornington Peninsula. I am now inviting children and their grown-ups to visit and immerse themselves in the whimsical fairy-tale atmosphere where children can explore the magic of stories. The groups are small, so there are limited spaces.

I have a highly creative background in design and education and I am also a qualified teacher. I have many years of experience working with mostly 2-5 year old children filming and producing educational materials and teaching guides for Early Years teachers and also Master of Education students. I am committed to providing a caring and safe learning environment that fosters growth of the child. I believe all children learn and grow through guided interaction, self-awareness, sensitivity to the natural world, encouragement and recognition of individuality, and the development of robust coping skills. I enjoy engaging children fully through their minds and their senses, using play-based learning. I love storytelling and imaginative play.
